Jason lives in Mytilene Μυτιλήνη, the capital of the island of Lesbos. Mytilene has a population of just under 30 000, and 58 0000 in the metropolitan area.
Tourism is a big part of Mytilene's economy, but ouzo is produced here. Over 15 commercial producers exist on Lesbos. The city also exports sardines, olive oil,
ladotyri cheese, and woodwork.
Mytilene also has a ferry terminal that serves Piraeus, Athens, and Thessaloniki on the mainland, as well as to the nearby islands of Lemnos and Chios and Ayvalik, and irregular service to Dikili, Turkey. Its a six hour ferry ride to Athens.
