The Six Harmonies Pagoda, also known as the Liuhe Pagoda (六和塔), is a multi-storey Chinese pagoda located in southern Hangzhou. The pagoda was originally constructed in 970 by the ruler of the Wuyue Kingdom , whose capital was Hangzhou. However, this original structure was destroyed in 1121 during a war. The current pagoda was rebuilt using wood and brick during the Southern Song dynasty , with further additions made during the Ming dynasty and the Qing dynasty . The pagoda stands just under 60 metres tall and appears to have 13 storeys, although it actually contains only seven interior levels. Inside, spiral staircases lead to the top floor. Xiangfu Bridge  祥符桥  is a historic stone arch bridge over the Grand Canal in Xiangfu Subdistrict. It is the only Ming Dynasty stone arch bridge preserved in Hangzhou. It is 28 meters long, 3.6 meters wide, and 5 meters high.  The first mention of Xiangfu Bridge in documents was 1268, during the Southern Song Dynasty. The current bridge was rebuilt in 1543 during the reign of Jiajing Emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

One of Hangzhou's  杭州市  most popular sights is West Lake  西湖  which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The West Lake Cultural Landscape covers 3323 hectares and includes important historic and scenic places. The lake is 6.39 square kilometres and is 3.2 km long and 2.8 km wide. There are four causeways, three artificial islands, and the Gushan, the only natural island. Several famous temples are found in the mountains west of the lake. The lake has been a tourist attraction since the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Poets and painters have been inspired by the lake for its natural beauty and historic relics.

Hangzhou  杭州市 is the biggest city and the capital city of Zhejiang  浙江 There are almost 12 000 000 people in Hangzhou, and 13.035 million in its metropolitan area. It is a major economic and e-commerce hub within China, and the second biggest city in the Yangtze Delta.  Forbes Magazine has rated Hangzhou as the best commercial city in China and the Chinese city with the highest growth potential. Alibaba, Ant Group, and NetEast all call Hangzhou home.  Hangzhou is also a major city for scientific research in the Asia-Pacific Region.  The Globalization and World Cities Research Network lists Hangzhou as a Beta city.  Hangzhou was awarded the 2022 Asian Games (to be contested in 2023).
