A "Happy New Year 2025" card from Toyokawa - the Year of the Snake! Toyokawa  豊川市  is home to the temple of Toyokawa Inari, or  Myōgon-ji  妙厳寺 , a popular pilgrimage destination. It dates back to 1441 during the Muromachi Period. It is a  Sōtō Zen   Buddhist   temple . The temple is well known for its guardian deity Toyokawa Dakini Shinten, a goddess of fertility, rice, agriculture, industry, and worldly success.
