Kate sent me a nice card with art on it entitled, "Tree in Blossom," by Alexandra Liukkonen. Velsk was first mentioned in 1137 and is found on the banks of where the Vel River and Vaga River meet. Today Velsk's economy is dominated by the lumber industry.
