Point Roberts is a pene-exclave - a territory of one country that can be approached only through the territory of another country - of Washington on the southern most tip of Tsawwassen peninsula, south of Vancouver, British Columbia. As of 2020, there are 1191 people living there. In order to reach the United States by land from Point Roberts, a person needs to drive 40 kilometres through Canada. There is also direct sea and air connections across Boundary Bay.  Point Roberts was created when the United Kingdom and the United States settled the Pacific Northwest American-Canadian border dispute with the Oregon Treaty. It established that the 49th parallel would defined the boundary between their territories. Point Roberts is south of the 49th parallel.
