At 7.4 million people, Pune is India's 7th most populous city. It has been voted as India's most livable city several times. Pune is India's second major IT Hub of India and the automobile and manufacturing hub of India. "Oxford of the East" is how Pune has been described, as Pune has 18 universities including Savitribal Phule Pune University, the National Defence Academy, and National Institute of Politics and Economics. There are 30 schools for engineering and technology. And eight medical colleges, including the Armed Forces Medical College.  Pune has several professional sports teams based here. The Pune 7 Aces is the professional badminton team that plays in the Premier Badminton League.
