Corralejo is a town and resort located on the northern tip of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. Itt has a large ex-pat population of Spainards, Italians, Irish, Brits, Germans, and Finns.  Corralejo was mostly a fishing village for much of its history. Tourism that dominated Fuerteventura in the south in the 1960s begane arriving to the north in the 1970s. Tourism developed in the town in the 80s and 90s and reached a peak in the 2000s.
