Like the NHL's Stanley Cup, the winning players and staff get their names added to the trophy. The current champion is Tappara. In 1991 a copy of the Kanada-malja was created with the original trophy kept and displayed at  Suomen Jääkiekkomuseo, or the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame. What a beautiful card from Sapporo. The artwork was created in the 13th century CE, during the Kamakura Period of Japanese history. Feudalism was also established during this time, too.  The Kamakura Period last from 1185, with Minamoto no Yoritomo  源 頼朝  as the first  shōgun, and ends when Nitta Yoshisada  新田 義貞  conquers and destroys Kamakura during the Seige of Kamakura in 1333.  On 27 May 1293, a major earthquake and tsunamis hit Sagami Bay and Kamakura, killing just over 23 000 people.
