Pretty card. I thought this was a photograph but it is landscape painting by Russian Ivan Shishkin  Иван  Шишкин  (1832-1898) entitled Old Fallen Trees. Forest Cemetery, 1893.  Shishkin was born in Yelabuga in 1832. He attended the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture and the Imperial Academy of Arts.  He was a part of the realism movement and a member of the Peredvizhniki, a group of Russian realist artists who formed an artists' cooperative in protest of academic restrictions. It evoled into the Society for Travelling Art Exhibitions (Peredvizhniki).  Shishkin painted The Pine Grove in 1898. He had a fatal heart attack is Saint Petersburg while sitting at his easel in front of said painting.

4073 - Berlin, Germany

This card from Berlin features the World Clock (Weitzeituhr) at Alexander Plaza (Alexanderplatz). East Germany erected the clock in 1969 and it was named a historical and culturally significant monument by the German government in 2015.  The clock was designed by Erich John, an employee of the planning group for the transformation of Alexanderplatz. He got the idea for the clock when wreckage of the  Uraniasäule, a pre-World War II public clock, was found during the restoration of the square in 1966.  In 1997, during a necessary repair of the clock, cities who were renamed or which moved time zones were updated. Leningrad, for example was changed to Saint Petersburg. There were also 20 cities that were omitted from the original clock by the East German government for political reasons, such as Tel Aviv, Cape Town, and Seoul, were added to the clock.
