Among the many UNESCO World Heritage List's places found in Berlin, there is the Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery). It was built between 1862-1876 on the order of King Frederick William IV of Prussia. There is a memorial on the outside stair to King Frederick William IV. The Alte Nationalgalerie is home to paintings and sculptures of the 19th century.
