I think this is a tourist promotional card. On the back, there is information about the photo pre-printed in three difference languages - Portuguese, English, and Spanish.  The photo shows Liberty Square in Belo Horizonte. It reads A Cultural Heritage of Belo Horizonte, the charming Liberty Square gathers around it a diverse architectural landscape, including works by Oscar Niemeyer. A choice for leisure and culture, the square has been a part of the city's history since its foundation. 

The sender didn't write anything, but there is information about the food on the card in three languages: With a rich and diverse cuisine, Bela Horizonte is the Capital of Bars. Among the most traditional appetizers of the city, stand out the pork rinds, being one of the many typical delights of the local gastronomy. 

The sender is actually from Brazil but now makes her home in Swansboro. Cabo Frio is a beach town she visited often when she lived in Brazil. Swansboro is a town of 3800 people. In 2018, Swansboro was among the hardest hit cities by Hurricane Florence. About 77 cm of rain fell on the city during the hurricane.  Otway Burns was born in Swansboro around 1775. He went on to become a privateer during the War of 1812. He captained the Snap Dragon . Their first prize was a British merchant ship that was armed with 14 cannons. Burns had many encounters of sailing away from British warships and also took several ships as prizes.  After the war, Burns went into business, using much of the wealth he earned as a privateer to get started. He started a shipbuilding business in Swansboro. His company built Prometheus , the first steamboat in North Carolina, which operated on the Cape Fear River. He built two more steamboats, the Warrior and the Henry .  1821 he was elected to represen...

I like these type of map cards. The sender is from the south of Brazil in Curitiba. Curitiba is the capital city of  Paraná and home to almost 2 million people. In the Curitiba Metropolitan Area there are 28 municipalities and 3.7 million people. It ranks very high, rare for a Brazilian city, on the Human Development Index. In 2010 it was awarded the Global Sustainable City Award. This award is given to cities that excel in sustainable urban development. The crime rate is low, by Brazilian standards, and is considered one of the safest cities for youth.  The sender also used Brazil's Postcrossing stamp!

Ronaldo from Belo Horizonte sent me a card of  Igreja de  São  Francisco de Assis, which translates to Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Apparently the  curved lines of the church enchanted artists and architects, but scandalized the city's conservative culture. Despite its completion in 1943 t he church was not consecrated until 1959. For 14 years, the ecclesiastical authorities prohibited the chapel from providing Catholic services. Several local politicians either tried to get the church torn down, or modified with more traditional architecture, befitting of a Catholic Church. Ronaldo's card shows the mural on the church created by Roberto Berle Marx. In 2016 the church was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
