I love these national parks cards. The United States, Canada, and Switzerland have great ones. This one is of Eastern Sierra, but Eastern Sierra isn't a national park. In the Eastern Sierra region you will find Yosemite National Park and Death Valley National Park. There is the John Muir Wilderness found here, as well. The John Muir Wilderness extends along the crest of the Sierra Nevada for 140 km in the Inyo and Sierra National Forests. It was estalished by the Wilderness Act in 1964 and named for John Muir, who is considered the father of national parks. John Muir was born in Scotland in 1838 and came to the United States with his family in 1949. He has many titles - naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and an advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.
