The painting on this card is entitled Head Studies of two African Men  painted by the Flemish artist, Jacob Jordaens (1593-1678). As well as being an artist, he was a draughtsman and a designers f tapestries and prints. Many of his paintings were biblical, mythological and allegorical compositions, genre scenes, landscapes, illustrations of Flemish sayings, and portraits. He became the leading Baroque painter of his time.
