Stuttgart has become a widely cited case study in urban climatology for its use of ventilation corridors to mitigate the effects of heat and air pollution. Owing to its location in a basin surrounded by hills, the city is prone to stagnant air masses and elevated summer temperatures. To address these challenges, municipal planners developed a detailed Climate Atlas (Klimaanalyse) beginning in the late 20th century, which maps local wind patterns, cold-air drainage flows, and areas of heat accumulation. The atlas has informed zoning regulations that preserve open spaces and prohibit construction in designated corridors, allowing cooler night-time air from surrounding forests and vineyards to flow into the urban core. These corridors also function as green belts, providing ecological and recreational benefits in addition to climate regulation. A nice meetup card from Metzingen, located about 30 km south of Stuttgart. It is known internationally for its outlet stores of all kinds of famous companies, centred around Hugo Boss. The former textile section of the city has been transformed into Outlet City and is full of outlet stores. Tourists from all over come for the shopping experience.

The writer of the card is from Stuttgart, but he attended a Postcrossing meeting in October 2021 celebrating the 800th anniversary of Ansbach.  Ansbach is in Bavaria. It wasn't damaged much during the Second World War so it retains its original historical baroque sheen.

Walter is a Postcrossing legend with just over 4000 cards sent and almost 4000 received. He lives in Stuttgart and sent me an ad card for Allguaer Buble Bier.  Stuttgart is one of Germany's largest cities at 635 000 residents and 5.3 million in its metropolitan area. It also has one of the highest rates of immigrants in Germany. Stuttgart consistently ranks as one of the best quality of living standards in the world, finishing 21st in 2015. Settlement in the area dates back 9000 years. Porsche, Bosch, Mercedez-Benz, and Daimler also call Stuttgart home.
