3732 - Zagreb, Croatia

The sender of the card says that Ston in found on the coast of Croatia. The salt fields date back to Roman times.  The Romans established a colony in the area of Ston in 167 BCE, Prior to that it was an Illyrian settlement. Today, the population is around 2500. 

3601 - Koprivnica, Croatia

Koprivnica is the capital city of  Koprivnica- Križevci County and located about 70 kilometers northeast of Zagreb. There are about 24 000 people in the city, with almost 31 000 in the "metropolitan" area.  The card has a reproduction of Gustav Klimpt's (1862-1918) The Kiss.   The Kiss  is an oil-on-canvas painting with added gold leaf, silver, and platinum. It was painted between 1907 - 08. This was the height of Klimpt's Golden Period. Today is is found at the   Österreichische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna. Many consider this piece Klimpt's most important work.
