Montréal is home to St. Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal   (Oratoire Saint-Joseph-du-Mont-Royal ). It is a Roman Catholic minor basilica and a national shrine. It is listed on Canada's National Historic Site and it is Canada's largest church. It was founded by Saint  André Bessette in 1904, in honour of his patron saint, St. Joseph. Many architects and thousands of workers were involved in the six decade construction of the oratory. It attracts 2 million visitors and pilgrims each year.
