4435 - Chengdu, Sichuan, China

Football (soccer) is a popular sport in Chengdu . Chengdu Tiancheng F.C. played in the second tier of Chinese professional football, commonly known as China League One , and hosted matches at the Chengdu Sports Center Stadium . The club was founded in 1996 and was originally known as Chengdu Wuniu (Five Bulls), named after its first sponsor, the Five Bulls Cigarette Company. The team was involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2009 while competing in the Chinese Super League . As punishment, the club was relegated to the second tier, and ownership changes followed. The club later struggled financially and was dissolved in 2015.

This card is of various cuisines found in Guanghan.  The sender is attending the Civic Aviation Flight University of China  中国民用航空飞行学院 . It is the national civil flight training university of China. The Civil Aviation Administration of China owns the university, and it is also co-funded by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government.  There are 16 000 students training to become civil aviation pilots and air traffic controllers. I like these info cards. Zunyi  遵义 is a prefecture-level city in China. In China, a prefecture is an administrative division below a province, but above a county. There are 2.4 million people in the metropolitan area, but the prefecture, including 14 county-level areas, has about 6.6 million people.  Zunyi is situated between Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, and Chongqing, and borders Sichuan. It is one of the most important cities of the province! Zunyi was were the Zunyi Conference took place in 1935. Mao Zedong was first elected to the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party here during the Long March.

A beautiful meet-up card from Chengdu on 21 September 2021. All the participants used an ink stamp to sign their names. They are all beautiful.  Chengdu  成都市  is the largest city in Sichuan Province at almost 21 million people. It is considered a Beta + City by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. That means it is considered to be a city that links moderate economic regions to the world economy. North American cities that are considered Beta + include Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Washington, DC, and Vancouver.  The economy of Chengdu is diverse and the Sichuan Airport is one of the 30 busiest in the world. It is also considered one of the most liveable cities in China. The Western Theatre Command of the People's Liberation Army is stationed here. UNESCO recognized Chengdu as a "City of Gastronomy."Giant pandas are native to the area and the city is home to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.  Chengdu is one of the world's top 4...
