The sender is a law student in Chemnitz, but the card comes from  Hörnum, located on the southern headland of the island of Sylt in northern Germany. Tourism dominates the economy.  The lighthouse featured on the card was built in 1907 and is 33.5 metres tall. From 1918 to 1930, the lighthouse was also used as a school house. Lessons took place 30 metres up!
