2451 - Holešov, Zlin, Czech Republic

I'm not sure if Pavel is a rock climbing enthusiast, but his card certainly suggests it. The writing on the front - in Czech - reads (in English) Teplice Rocks - Ascent to the Temple Walls. Teplice is the second largest spa town in the Czech Republic and has a historic city centre.

Pavel is from Holešov, which is located on the other side of the Czech Republic and found on the western hilsside of the the Hostýn-Vsetín Mountains – the westernmost part of the Carpathian Mountains.  It is a town of about 12 000 and first mentioned in 1141.

From the first half of the 16th century until World War II, the town had a large Jewish community. During the Second World War, almost the entire Jewish population was murdered.
