Huangcun is a town found in the northwest corner of the Baxing District in Beijing. It is home to about 180 000 people. It is actually three separate regions that are disconnected from one another. It got its name after the region was flooded during the Yuan Dynasty. When the water receded, it formed a large desert landscape. Huangcun translates to Deserted Village.
