3608 - Hanau, Hesse, Germany

The sender is from Hanau, a city of 102 000 people and is a part of the Frankfurt Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region. The railway station is a major junction and their is a port of the river Main. Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm - the Brothers Grimm - were born here. They, of course, are well known folklorests. They popularized stories such as Cinderella, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Rumpelstiltskin, and Snow White. Their first collection of folk tales, Children's and Household Tales  was published in 1812. Most of these stories have had the cruelty and violent taken out, not known to many people now as the Walt Disney Company has taken many of them and "Disneyfied" them so that children could watch them.
