The sender is from Kamloops and sent a card from Pompeii, Italy. She doesn't mention if she visited the site or not. The photo is, of course, the outline of one of the victims of the volcanic eruption in 79. I was just listening to a podcast about the Roman Empire and in it they said ho much they have learned about the Roman Empire based on Pompeii. The fact Pompeii was frozen in time and preserved so much of the structures, artwork, etc. In fact, they found obscene graffiti drawn on walls, evidence of 'fast food' kiosks, and information about their toilet habits.
