Mount Pocono is a borough of about 3200 people located in eastern Pennsylvania. It was once a popular tourist destination in the late 1880s to the mid 1900s. The Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad provided transportation from New York City and Philadelphia. It was a summer resort for many to escape the cities in the summer time. The tourist boom ended was passenger service began to dwindle and then finally stop in 1965. Most of the resort hotels closed down.
