A beautiful card of Nigatsudo Temple, or
Nigatsu-dō, 二月堂. It translates to "The Hall of the Second Month." It is located in Nara and Nigatsudo Temple is located to the east of the Great Buddha Hall, on the Hillside of Mount Wakakusa 若草山.It was founded by Sanetada, a Buddhist monk in 752. Another Buddhist monk, Jitchu introduced a repentance service dedicated to the image of the eleven-faced Bodhisattva, Kannon, in 760. The annual rite has taken place annually without interuption.
