The sender has two hobbies—photography and making his own postcards. This card features one of his own photographs, which he turned into a postcard.
Dietzenbach was once a small farming town of about 4000 people before World War II. After the war, the population grew rapidly as refugees began settling in the area. Today, the town has around 35 000 residents, and roughly one-third have roots in more than 100 countries outside of Germany.
Dietzenbach also has an Ausländerbeirat, or foreigners’ advisory council. Nineteen representatives from various nationalities meet ahead of town council sessions to provide input on i
ssues affecting the community.
