3131 - Toms River, New Jersey, United States of America

Toms River is a township in Ocean County in New Jersey. It was once the Township of Dover, but voters approved a name change in 2006 to Toms River. Toms River is in the heart of the Jersey Shore, a bedroom community of New York City (its a part of the New York metropolitan area), and a regional commercial hub in central New Jersey.  There are 95 000 people in the township. Toms River can be seen in the television shows Made , Jersey Shore , Boardwalk Empire , and the movie,  The Amityville Horror.

3130 - Kyiv, Ukraine

I think this is the best card I've received in a long time. It shows a Ukrainian soldier giving the finger to a Russian naval ship. I believe this is from the first day of the Russian invasion when the Russian navy attacked Snake Island. The attack was widely publicized when an audio clip of the Russian cruiser Moskva hailing the island's garrison over the radio to demand their surrender. The Ukrainians replied, "Russian warship, go fuck yourself." It was believed the 13 border guards that made up the garrison were all killed after refusing the surrender. President Zelenskyy announced that they would all posthumously receive the title Hero of Ukraine. Later it was announced the guard might only be prisoners of war. In April, the Ukrainians used an anti-ship missile to strike and sink the Moskva.

3129 - Albany, Oregon, USA

A great World Postcard Day card from Oregon.  Albany is a city of 57 000 in Linn County. Albany calls itself "the rare metals capital of the world." Mines produce zirconium, hafnium, and titanium.  Zirconium (Zr) is used as an alloying agent in materials that are exposed to aggressive environments such as surgical appliances, light filaments, and watch cases.  Hafnium (Hf) is used in filaments and electrodes Titanium (Ti) is used to produce a lustrous transition metal with a silver colour, low density, and high strength, resistance to corrosion in sea water, aqua regia, and chlorine. It can be alloyed with iron, aluminum, vanadium, and molybdenum to produce strong, lightweight alloys for aerospace, military, industrial processes, automotive, agriculture, medical prostheses, orthopaedic implants, dental and endodontic instruments, dental implants, sporting goods, jewelry, mobile phones, and other applications.

3128 - Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia

A great World Postcard Day card from Indonesia.  Tangerang is home to the Al-Azhom Grand Mosque. It opened in 2003 and is the largest mosque in Banten province. It can hold 15 000 worshippers making it one of the largest mosques in the world based on capacity.  The mayor of Tangerang, Djakaria Machmud, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony in July 1997. It was inaugurated by the Minister of Religion for the Indonesian government, Said Agil Husin Al Munawar in February 2003.

3127 - Moscow, Russia

The sender worked in or visited Uzbekistan and is back in Moscow. She and her husband travel to places by car (auto tourism). I am assuming she sent this on one of her auto tours.

3126 - New Taipei City, Taiwan

I received three cards in an envelope and normally that would annoy me. I want my postcards stamped and written on. However, these cards were from grade 8 students at Sanduo Jr High School and this was a part of the English studies class. All three cards were from different students. Their penmanship was very good, as was their grammar and spelling.

3125 - Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Another great World Postcard Day card. This one designed with peace in mind.  Kaohsiung is a special municipality of 2.72 million people in Southern Taiwan. It is known as the "Harbour Capital" of Taiwan. Unfortunately Kaohsiung is the biggest port for the export of shark fins. They are brought in from overseas and placed out to dry in the sun on residential rooftops near the port.
