Paul is from Driffield which is a village of about 13 000. It was first mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle where King Aidfrith of Northumbria died on 14 December 705. In the Domesday Book of 1086, Driffield is mentioned and is said to mean "dirty (manured) field."
Paul mentions that he play petanque. Petanque is also called French Boules. Petanque is very similar to lawn bowls, but is played on hard dirt or gravel.
