A great Postcrossing Meet Up card. The meet up was at San Marcos, Texas, and it looks like there were 8-9 people that attended!
The sender is from Belton, a city of 23 000 people located in east-central Texas. There is evidence of human habitation in the area that dates back to 6000 BCE. The Tonkawa are the earliest identifiable Indigenous peoples in the area. The area was also home to the Lipan Apache, Wacos, Nadaco, Kiowas, and Comanche. Most Indigenous people were pushed out of the area by the 1840s, but there were skirmishes with the Comanche until the early 1870s.
