4460 - Los Angeles, California, United States

The sender writes that she filled out this postcard just after watching Game Four of the World Series. In 2025, it featured the defending champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, against the Toronto Blue Jays. It felt like everyone in Canada had Blue Jays fever.

In Game Four, the Blue Jays defeated the Dodgers 6–2, tying the best-of-seven series at two games apiece. For Toronto, this was a particularly exciting moment—the 2025 World Series marked their first appearance since winning back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993.

The Dodgers entered the series as favourites, although Toronto held home-field advantage thanks to a stronger regular-season record. The series itself turned out to be tightly contested, ultimately going the full seven games.

The Dodgers went on to win the World Series in dramatic fashion. In Game Seven, the Blue Jays were leading by one run in the ninth inning when Miguel Rojas hit a one-out home run to tie the game. Toronto was unable to respond in the bottom of the inning, sending the game into extra innings.

In the 10th inning, the Dodgers loaded the bases but failed to score, while the Blue Jays went three up, three down in their half. Then, in the 11th inning, Will Smith of the Dodgers hit a two-out home run to give Los Angeles the lead. In the bottom half, the Blue Jays threatened with runners on first and third, but the game ended on a double play.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was named World Series Most Valuable Player. He earned three wins, struck out 15 batters, and posted an impressive 1.02 earned run average. Notably, he became the first pitcher to win three road games in a single World Series, and only the second pitcher ever to record three wins in one series.

It must have been quite something to watch that game unfold live—one of those moments where a simple postcard captures the excitement of a much bigger event.

3566 - Bakhmach, Chernihiv, Ukraine

Bakhmach is locarted in northern Ukraine. I'm taking this next paragraph straight out of Wikipedia: During the  Russian invasion of Ukraine  on February 26, 2022, at least 65 units of Russian military equipment moved through Bakhmach, with about a hundred more on the outskirts. Local residents tried to stop the convoy on their own by blocking tank tracks with makeshift objects and convincing Russian soldiers not to move towards  Kyiv . One man attempted to climb onto a tank and block the road with his body (he was not hurt). However, the military equipment continued to move, and Russian forces fired several shots into the air. Слава Україні!

3584 - Blaine, Minnesota, United States of America

The sender was in Las Vegas recently and bought this card from The Mob Museum. The Mob Museum, officially known as the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is located in downtown Las Vegas. It open in 2012. It features artifacts, stories, and the history of organized crime in the United States, but also the actions and initiatives by law enforcement to prevent such crimes.  The museum is found at the former Las Vegas Post Office and Courthouse, which was built in 1933.  The quote on this card was from John Gotti. John Gotti (1940-2002) was the mafioso and boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City. After ordering the killing of Gambino boss Paul Catellano in 1985, he took over the family and led what was the United States' most powerful crime syndicate. He was known as The Teflon Don  after three high profile trials in the 1980s resulted in acquittals. Later it was revealed that the trials had been tainted by jury tampering, juror misconduct, and...
