railways pass through Shangrao - the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway, and the Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway.
The Shanghai-Kunming Railway (Hukun Railway) 滬昆鐵路 is a major arterial railroad across eastern south central, and southwest China. It connect Shanghai and Kunming. It is almost 2700 km long and passes through 15 major cities.
Between Shanghai and Zhuzhou, the speed limit is 200 km/h/. Between Zhuzhou to Huaihua, the speed limit is 120 km/h. The entire line is electrified.
The Shanghai-Hunming High-Speed Railway runs parallel to the Shanghai-Kunming Railway, but does pass through four more provncial capitals - Hangzhou, Nanchang, Changsha, and Guiyang. The total length of the line is 2066 km.
The construction company was found to commit fraud and illegal subcontracting. Because of this, some sections were found to be dangerous if the trains were travelling at certain speeds. Because of this, in some section operational speeds were reduced from 300 km/h to 70 km/h.
The Hefei-Fuzhou High-Speed Railway 合福高速鐵路 is an electric and passenger dedicated line between Hefei and Fuzhou. It is 813 km long. Trains can reach speeds of 300 km/h. The train can get from Hefei to Fuzhou in four hours.
