Sé 大堂區 the second largest peninsular district in Macau. It is named for Igreja da Sé, a Roman Catholic cathedral - the Cathedral of the Nativity of Our Lady, or in Portuguese, Sé Catedral da Natividade de Nossa Senhora澳門主敎座堂.
There has been three versions of the cathedral. In 1623, it was a small wooden chapel. The second version was consecrated in 1850 by the Bishop of Macau,
Jerónimo José da Mata. It was almost destroyed in a typhoon 24 years later. In 1937, the cathedral was completely rebuilt in concrete.
